Our Highly Qualified Misfits

We're a little different than the other guys.

25 years in TV

Graham Budd

(Budders)

Experience:

25 years in TV

Located:

Calgary - Kimberley

Budd, Budders, Buddsie or simply Greeehm has over 20 years of television experience, mainly all good.  He spent a good chunk of his winters the past decade covering the NHL. He now enjoys putting far too many stickers crookedly all over his equipment.  Greeehm is changing gears to focus on turning Nomadic into a specialty camera rental house, spending time with his young family and trying his hand as a tech manager.  (His write up isn't very good, because he doesn't enjoy talking about himself)

25 years in TV

Steve Bicknell

(Bicks)

Experience:

25 years in TV

Located:

Calgary

Nomadic wouldn’t have any working gear without this fella on board. Bicks has been instrumental in fixing, maintaining, designing solutions and regularly saving the day. There isn’t enough money or IPA’s in the world to thank him.

20 years in TV

Mike Brown

(Brownie)

Experience:

20 years in TV

Located:

Toronto based, but acts more Vancouver.

Brownie left behind a promising career pumping gas and landscaping to pursue television at BCIT.  Speed shot robo on Leafs games hasn't been the same since... He is a true road warrior, master of his craft, reliable, a team player, good friend and finally wearing medium sized Bengals clothing.  Brownie is one of the top robo operators out there, but I would never tell him that to his face.

25 years in TV

Kal Genereux

Experience:

25 years in TV

Located:

Calgary but Edmonton born

One of the few people in the industry that can be thrown on any camera and do a great job.  Handheld, hard, robo, overheads, jib.  Major asset to any crew.  I've known Kal for over 20 years, we met on my first utility gig, he trained me on netcams and how to work hungover.  I look forward to every time we work together and would go to war with him.  Kal does a ton of curling, some NHL, some CFL, some CPL, some rodeo, some equestrian, some winter sports and if you are lucky, your event.

9 years in TV

Austin Munday

(Gus)

Experience:

9 years in TV

Located:

Toronto

Austin is the little brother that is smarter, nicer and better than you are, but thankfully not funnier.  All around good dude.  He started off as Mr. Q Ball/ankle cam and since then shown he can operate every other robo position.   Austin took the ankle cam position for the NHL and owned it.  He is the go to guy for any major hockey event and there are several reasons for that.   He is mature beyond his years with a receding hairline to show for it.

15 years in TV (which leads us all to believe child labour laws were broken.)

Shayne Branigan

(Doc Shanigan)

Experience:

15 years in TV (which leads us all to believe child labour laws were broken.)

Located:

Ottawa

Doc was tempted to join the medical profession, but television ran too deep in his blood.  Shayne's TV career as a utility seemingly started shortly after diapers. He does robo on Sens games in Ottawa and is a great hard cam operator the rest of the year.  Doc prefers the world's largest robo return monitor, comfy pants and a comfy chair.  Doc never gets frazzled, is always a pro, has a smile on his face and a great robo operator.

9 years in TV

Justin Kukurudz

Experience:

9 years in TV

Located:

Calgary based, Manitoba raised

Justin put in his time as a utility, before doors finally opened.  I've had front row seats to his television career and enjoyed watching him progress.  His robo career started with Q balls and since then he's moved onto being the main robo guy in Calgary. He's been doing a lot more hard camera work the past few years.  When he isn't nerding out on comics, he will discretely light you up with a one liner.  He's always a fun guy to be around.
